Bash / Sparkling Raspberry Cocktail
I’m not even going to pretend that I don’t love sparkling wine. Prosecco, Cava, Champagne. No matter here it’s from, I simply love bubbles. The best part is that I still find drinking it special. Every occasion where bubbles are present feels like a delightful treat.
I came across this drink recipe on Apartment 34. I used raspberries that I froze this summer and put sugar on the rim instead of the sugar raspberries to simplify. Let me know what you think.
Sparkling Raspberry Cocktail
Ingredients:
1 bottle of Champagne
1 cup of raspberries
Dash of St. Germain
Sugar
Red food coloring
Saucer style champagne glasses
On a small plate, mix 3T finely granulated sugar with 1 drop of red food coloring until the sugar forms a dark pink color. Set aside. Blend the raspberries in a blender. Once blended, strain the raspberries through a fine strainer to get your raspberry puree. Wet the rim of the champagne glass on a plate of warm water. Dip it in so just the rim gets wet. Next dip the glass in the sugar mixture so it coat evenly around the rim. Add 2T of the puree to each glass. Add a splash of St. Germain. Top the glass off with Champagne. Enjoy!
I’m Full.
That is all. If I can muster up the energy, I might do this.
Happy Thanksgiving!
There is so much to be thankful for this year. Health, family, friends, the direction my life is going, that I’m marrying my lovely man this year…and I could continue. There is only good in my life right now and for that I am extremely thankful because I know that is not always the case. A very happy and healthy Thanksgiving from me to you.
One of my favorite Thanksgiving tablescapes to inspire:

Thanks Apartment 34 for these beautiful images.

Seeing it Everywhere / Gold Geometry
I’m on trend and don’t even know it. I am in the midst of planning our wedding (!!!) and given my love of all things paper, petal and bash *wink* I’m sure you can understand how fun and difficult all the decisions can be.
I came across these gold cubes on CB2 and thought they could be a great prop for table decor, hanging behind the alter or as a general theme.
CB2. $16.95 CA for the set.
Then my friend showed me these escort cards.
When I saw them, it solidified my decision to use a gold, geometric pattern as a theme. Plus wouldn’t these make a great DIY? Here are some other goodies I’ve found that I’m excited to incorporate.
Sphere hanging mobile. CB2. $39.95 CA.
The florist we’re using has this piece she used for another wedding. Perfect, right?
Here are a few other ideas I’m not sure if I’m using but are cute nonetheless.
Petal / Green Thumb
This summer, I was convinced I wanted to be a gardner. I did it too. I grew kale, arugula, lettuces, strawberries, peas and beans. I thoroughly enjoyed picking my bounty and whipping up healthy dinners. Now that the weather has turned, I still want that green around me. I am just loving plants in every room of the house. Doesn’t a punch of green instantly change the feel or a room?
Bash / My Own
It’s the ultimate bash. Our wedding. R and I are excited for so many reasons – declaring our love and lifelong commitment in front of our family and friends, having all of those people in one place, a honeymoon 😉 But let’s be honest, I am pretty darn excited about the paper, the petals and obviously, the bash. The funny thing is, for a lady who covets event ideas like I do, planning my own wedding is totally overwhelming.
We decided on a short engagement so we have a number of things figured out already:
- Goal: a super fun party with our family and friends
- Vibe: casual, elegant and representative of us
- Things I care about: colorful flowers, unique paper goods, people having a good time, the whole thing ‘coming together’, DIY’s
- Things R cares about: great food, that everyone dances, having an open bar, that the flowers are not ‘girly’, no boutonnière
- Things I don’t care about: the exact flowers, band vs. dj, desserts, favors/welcome bags/things-that-cost-a-lot-of-money-that-no-one-cares-about,
- Things R doesn’t care about: decor details (yes!), DIY’s (double yes!), being involved in the details
- Details: yellow, teal, hot pink, black and white stripes, sparkly gold. Secondary colors: jewel tones.
Here is the vibe board I put together. I use pinterest but wanted something that with one quick glance, would help anyone understand what we’re going for.
I’m so excited to marry R!!!
Seeing it Everywhere / Decorate with Leaves
One of the most affordable ways to create fall decor is to use what we have. I have a lawn. My lawn has trees on it. Thus I have free decor right outside my doorstep. It can be as simple as putting a branch in a pretty vase or going one step further and painting or hanging the foliage you find.
I love this image I got from Bri’s instagram. Great idea and awesome expression.
Small Space
I came across this article on Dwell about the 580 sq ft home of Mad Men star Vincent Kartheiser. What an amazing space.
How cool is that murphy bed?!
I too love the Wally planter from Woolly Pocket. This makes Pete all the more likable.
